History of Marble Falls
General Adam R. Johnson traveled to Texas in 1854, viewed the falls and surrounding countryside, and knew he wanted to make Marble Falls his home. Marble Falls is named for a 22 foot ledge of pink Texas marble on the Colorado River, now hidden by Lake Marble Falls. Johnson returned to Marble Falls and officially founded the city in 1887.
Johnson's first home is now a Texas Bed and Breakfast, Liberty Hall Guest Haus, overlooking Lake Marble Falls. Liberty Hall is rich in history. The land for Liberty Hall was awarded in 1836 to the heirs of Captain William Baker, a Hero of the Alamo. Liberty Hall was also the home of Dr. George and "Birdie" Harwood 1919-1935, the first woman mayor in America in 1917.

Travel Tips
Always leave a copy of your itinerary or phone number with family and friends back home. This way you can easily be reached in case of emergency.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday are generally cheaper days to fly on because not many business travelers are flying.
Always pack in advance; it will decrease your chances of forgetting something. Pack what you want to take with you, and then unpack half of it. Generally, people pack more then they need.
